Default The UNofficial Guild Wars Patch.

To coincide with the release of Guild Wars Nightfall, a large patch is being added on the 15th of October 2006. Several things will be adjusted with this patch, to make the transition to Nightfall all that smoother, whilst fixing problems for both Prophecies and Factions.

Detailed below are a few of these changes, too wet the appetite of our players.

Gameplay Changes:

*Chest no longer require keys to open them, however the opening of chests has been lowered to one per person, per area.

*Afflicted no longer explode at death, this should reduce frustration towards the Assassin proffesion, as we have identified that 80% of Assassins die this way.

*Mounts will now be added to certain parts of Tyria, Cantha and Elona! Players are now able to choose from several different mount types unique to the Guild Wars universe.

Prophecies players will have access to these special mounts; Wolf, Raptor, Dolyak, Horse.

Factions players will have access to these special mounts; Yak, Mechanical Moa, Necrid Horse, Tiger.

And for the first time only, we will be adding new flying mounts to Nightfall, now players have the option to choose from several different types of Kuunavang!

Fixed a bug that allowed Warriors to weild both a 1 handed Weapon, and a sheild at the same time. While this feature will still be possible, it will now require 16 Points in strength.

It is now possible for players to customize there mini-pets! Now, a player has to simply speak with a Mini-pet Trainer to add +20% Useless to it!

*Warrior/Monk is no longer a viable character.
Mending: Energy cost now 25 (by The Admins Bane)


Mission Fixes:

*Fixed a bug that required the player to kill Shiro Tagachi to complete the game. Now, once the party has Shiro at 50% Health, we will understand his mistakes and beg for his life.

In addition to this fix, Shiro Tagachi will be one of many exciting new Henchmen in Nightfall.

*Fixed a bug that caused the Charr AI to destroy Ascalon City.

Proffesion Changes:

*Rangers can no longer choose Necromancer as there secondary proffesion, while the option will still be there, this will be seen as a breech of the EULA.

*After carefull testing and consideration, Monks will no longer be a playable proffesion, however it will still be possible for a player to choose Monk as there secondary proffesion, this will have no effect on the 90% of players who already use Monk as there secondary proffesion.

PvP Changes:
*Fixed a bug in Alliance Battle that allowed Kurzick to win.

Items:

*A new customised item has been added to the inventory of all primary mesmers, the morphing stick, each time you activate it in town it will change your appearence to that of any other class (double click multiple times till you find the class you require) which should go some way to helping you finally get accepted into a party, please note if your inventory is full you can clear a space and use the /nobodylovesme command to gain this item. *Added Pants (by Adrienne)

Bug Fixes:

*Fixed a bug that causes bunnythumpers to have infinite energy no matter how much they spam their skills. (by shardfenix )

*Fixed a bug that caused 100% of iway players to think they're good. (by shardfenix )

*Fixed a bug that caused Arenanet to nerf only the bad pvp and pve builds (minion masters, eoe bomb, etc) (by shardfenix )

*Fixed a bug that was introduced in our last bugfix, where something completely unrelated to the game changes went wrong. (by shardfenix )

*Fixed a bug that prevented the skill Infuse Health from working properly. (by shardfenix )


Skill Changes:

*Air of enchantment will no longer give monks infinite energy. (by shardfenix )

*The description of the necromancer skills Vampyric Bite and Vampyric Touch have been simplified to "If you're playing a ranger, you win." (by shardfenix )

*Order of Apostasy no longer removes all enemy enchantments from the game. It removes one enchantment, then makes you lose for playing iway.
Choking Gas - increased duration to (3...5) hours, and increased the size of the gas effect to 5 square miles. (by shardfenix )

*Mending now stacks with itself so you can echo it properly. (by shardfenix )

*Removed the skill Otyugh's Cry from the game and added a skill that actually does something. (by shardfenix )

*Practiced stance - Simplified the description to "The next preparation you use never ends." (by shardfenix )

*Seeking Arrows - To save time, seeking arrows now kills all enemy ghostlies, since they can't cap anyway. (by shardfenix )

*Eviscerate - Lowered damage by 1. (by shardfenix )

*Irresistable Blow - Made it cause weakness instead of knockdown to even out its power level (compare to irresistable chop and irresistable ...uhh...the sword one, which both cause conditions instead of death) (by shardfenix )

*Ritual Lord - Decreased recharge on affected skills to 10%. (by shardfenix )

*Shelter, Union, and Displacement - Decreased recharge times to 15 seconds to make up for rit lord sucking. (see last skill balance). (by shardfenix )

*Removed the skill Ward Against Harm and added a new elite skill. (by shardfenix )

*Ward Against Anet - Non-spirit allies within the ward cannot get stuck in the ground. Arrows no longer go through closed doors instead of open ones. You don't get instakilled at VoD if you're holding a flag.

Bugfixes:

Fixed a bug with the Assassin skill Unsuspecting Strike that caused it to be a viable lead attack.

Whirling Defense now causes the Dazed effect for the duration of the stance.
Dazed now affects "skills" as well as "spells".

Fixed a bug with the skill "I Will Avenge You!" that caused it to be affected by the number of dead allies one has. It is obvious no one who uses this skill has any allies.

Guild Lord changes:

Profession changed to W/Mo/P/R (he's a Lord so he gets four professions)
Skill set changed to: Cleave, Warrior's Cunning, Mending, "Can't Touch This!," Otyugh's Cry, Frenzy, Healing Signet, Power Shot. Otyugh's Cry, though it has been removed, will be in use by the Guild Lord for absolutely no reason.
The Guild Lord now has a base AL of zero.
The Guild Lord now uses Frenzy whenever he uses Healing Signet.
Changed the Guild Lord's character model to that of MC Hammer.

Updated Kai Ying so that he uses better puns. (We worked for hundreds of hours on this one).

Modified Henchman AI so that they no longer use skills.

Updated the hourly message that appears when playing Guild Wars. The new message cycle is as follows:

"You have been playing for 1 hour."
"You have been playing for 2 hours. Please take a break."
"You have been playing for 3 hours. Take a freaking break already."
"You have been playing for 6 hours. Go to sleep already."
"You have been playing for 12 hours. Call an asylum."
"You have been playing for 1 day. An asylum has been notified. Have a nice day."
"You have been playing for 1 week. The Guild Wars client will now shut down. It can no longer be opened from this IP address for one month."

Modified all Sundering mods so that they read, "Pick Vampiric. It's better."
Sundering now has no effect.

Added new runes of Mending to the game.
"Minor Rune of Mending: -100 Health, Health regeneration+1"
"Major Rune of Mending: -200 Health, Health Regeneration+2"
"Superior Rune of Mending: -400 Health, Health Regeneration+3"

What do you think of that? :P

oh you forgot the bug fix they did, it involves bots touchers and whammos

anyone with "Friend of [faction here]" titles will now be marked for botting and/or leeching, leaving, rage quitting, and playing the game.

Now only Ranger/Necros with the skill offering of blood in their skill bar can use staffs

Fixed healing hands to do what the title says, every time you're hit in the hands you get healed

yeh i've been working a GREAT frenzy healing hands echo mending and healing signet, my technique is to start off with mending, hit frenzy, healing hands then healing signet instantly, while tanking, it OWNS

-Fixed a bug that caused Oni to spawn by surprise, now on every spot there is a sign saying "Careful, Oni ahead"

-Fixed a bug that cased mending make a warior invincible and super 1337

-Fixed a bug that allowes elementalists dance nude in public

-Fixed a bug that allowes rangers to use a hammer, they can still equip it but cannot do more then 5 damg at a time

Fixed a bug that gave exhaustion to elementalist spells.

Fixed a bug which resulted in the dwarfs' civil war. Rurik will be resurrected.

Fixed a bug that made some elites crap.

Removed the cap to MMs as it doesn't have any sense.

Removed the ability of mobs to flee from AoE spells until we develop the same for henchmen. (this might be permanent)

Made all bosses drop rare materials, a dye and a rare scroll.
